merchandise booth (regains)
So what is this?
The Concession Stand located in the eastern hallway also sells show merchandise! This is a place where characters can obtain items, both strange and familiar! ICly, characters will wake up to find coins deposited on their vanity from time to time. These can be traded here for a randomly selected item.
What are these coins?
ICly, they’re just unmarked coins of no recognizable origin. OOCly, coins are awarded for every five comments from your character in a thread. Multiple increments in one thread for multiple coins ARE allowed up to five, or 25 comments!
Any threads between player characters that do not take place during investigations, trials and motive announcements are eligible for a coin. Threads with mod NPCs such as the showrunner are eligible for coins as well, but the one catch to this is that private conversations and letters do not count – the thread must take place in public
Why should I buy your weird merch?
What, besides cool new stuff? Well, okay.
This is where you have the chance to get those five regains you put down in your app. It's all up to the RNG, of course, and you may even end up getting someone else's belongings instead. You’ve got a 10% chance of getting a regain, yours or someone else’s, with every coin submitted, so keep those threads a-comin’!
Renewable items?
One out of your five items can be renewable – that is, they have the potential to come out of the booth more than one time. They can be consumable things like food, candy, liquor or cigarettes; they can also be things like yarn, socks, whatever you like!
Do coins expire? Do my coins have to be from this week?
Eligible threads don't expire! For example, you can still submit week 1 and intro log threads after week 1 ends.
My threadmate turned in our thread already. Do I have to turn it in too to get a coin?
Yep!
The character I was threading with died. Can I still get paid for interacting with them?
WHY NOT. Dead characters can no longer redeem coins, but you living do whatever you want.
I have a thread with an NPC. Can I submit that too?
Yes! As long as it's in a public post (ex. a weekly log or afterparty) those are acceptable.
What’s this I hear about song rewards?
Excellent question! Threads which include a song can be redeemed for one additional free coin! Only song participants get this bonus, so if your character didn’t sing, the thread will be worth the normal amount of coins. On the other hand, all song participants get a bonus, so a duet will result in extra coins for both performers!
When you have a thread long enough to be redeemed, comment below with a link to the thread. Please include the number of comments and, if possible, number of total coins from your character in each thread you submit. The mods will respond with sweet loot accordingly.
CONGRATULATIONS!
2. Bomber Jacket: A large brown bomber jacket, rather worn. It smells vaguely of gunpowder.
3. Carmine Heifer: IT GIVES YOU ENERGGGGGGY!!!
4. Top Hat & Cane: A black top hat with a matching cane. You could probably perform a nice dance number with them.
5. Golden Slippers: The slippers as pure as gold. They're small, but someone here may be able to fit in them.
6. A Sunday Afternoon: A painting of a peaceful Sunday afternoon in the park. The brushwork on the peoples' hats is particularly impressive.
7. Hair Gel: A tin of hair gel. Use it to keep that 'do looking good!
8. Razor: A silver straight razor. While it looks extremely real, trying to slice throats will only yield plastic burns.
9. Target Practice: A target from a shooting range. This one depicts a figure wearing a tall hat of some sort. There's a bullet hole through the head.
10. Cologne: A fine French cologne with an irresistible, masculine scent.
11. Ruby Slippers: A pair of shiny ruby shoes. Clicking the heels together makes a very satisfying sound.
12. Magical Mister Mistoffelees: A tuxedo cat plush. It's chest is bedazzled with small plastic gems. The tag around it's neck says "Magical Mister Mistoffelees".
13. Bandage Wrap: A cloth bandage wrap used to treat wounds. It's bright white, so you can see it even from the back of the house.
14. Everlasting Gobstobber: A single piece of hard candy. No matter how long you suck on it, it never grows smaller.
15. Iver-Johnson .32: Rubber handles, owls stamped on the sides. It's unloaded.
16. Death Note: A black notebook with the words DEATH NOTE written across the front. The first page reads "The human whose name is written in this note shall die." Luckily (or unluckily) it's just an ordinary, if edgy, notebook.
17. Glo Tape: Glow in the dark tape. Makes it easy to hit those marks during a blackout!
18. Beans: A leather pouch with four beans inside. They don't seem to do much.
19. Masque of the Opera Ghost: A white half-mask. Hide your face so the world will never find you.
20. Teddy Bear: A giant teddy bear, such as one might win at a carnival. It has an odd sharp smell to it, sort of like...gunpowder?
21. Green Elixir: Have another drink, my dark-eyed beauty... A green liquid in a small bottle made of frosted green glass. Drinking it will reveal that it is 1) very tasty and 2) straight absinthe.
22. Gorgeous Breastplate: A thin golden breastplate. It's made of real metal, but seems to fasten onto the body with glittery pink ribbons
23. Striped Scarf: A long striped scarf. Wearing it makes you look very Bohemian.
24. Harmonica: A silver harmonica.
