merchandise booth (regains)
So what is this?
The Concession Stand located in the eastern hallway also sells show merchandise! This is a place where characters can obtain items, both strange and familiar! ICly, characters will wake up to find coins deposited on their vanity from time to time. These can be traded here for a randomly selected item.
What are these coins?
ICly, they’re just unmarked coins of no recognizable origin. OOCly, coins are awarded for every five comments from your character in a thread. Multiple increments in one thread for multiple coins ARE allowed up to five, or 25 comments!
Any threads between player characters that do not take place during investigations, trials and motive announcements are eligible for a coin. Threads with mod NPCs such as the showrunner are eligible for coins as well, but the one catch to this is that private conversations and letters do not count – the thread must take place in public
Why should I buy your weird merch?
What, besides cool new stuff? Well, okay.
This is where you have the chance to get those five regains you put down in your app. It's all up to the RNG, of course, and you may even end up getting someone else's belongings instead. You’ve got a 10% chance of getting a regain, yours or someone else’s, with every coin submitted, so keep those threads a-comin’!
Renewable items?
One out of your five items can be renewable – that is, they have the potential to come out of the booth more than one time. They can be consumable things like food, candy, liquor or cigarettes; they can also be things like yarn, socks, whatever you like!
Do coins expire? Do my coins have to be from this week?
Eligible threads don't expire! For example, you can still submit week 1 and intro log threads after week 1 ends.
My threadmate turned in our thread already. Do I have to turn it in too to get a coin?
Yep!
The character I was threading with died. Can I still get paid for interacting with them?
WHY NOT. Dead characters can no longer redeem coins, but you living do whatever you want.
I have a thread with an NPC. Can I submit that too?
Yes! As long as it's in a public post (ex. a weekly log or afterparty) those are acceptable.
What’s this I hear about song rewards?
Excellent question! Threads which include a song can be redeemed for one additional free coin! Only song participants get this bonus, so if your character didn’t sing, the thread will be worth the normal amount of coins. On the other hand, all song participants get a bonus, so a duet will result in extra coins for both performers!
When you have a thread long enough to be redeemed, comment below with a link to the thread. Please include the number of comments and, if possible, number of total coins from your character in each thread you submit. The mods will respond with sweet loot accordingly.
CONGRATULATIONS
2. I Hate My Husband Pie: A bittersweet chocolate pie drowned in caramel. It tastes delicious but it leaves you feeling a little miserable afterwards.
3. Sonic the Hedgehog Plush: An almost life size plush of Sega's famous mascot. The kind of plush you'd win at an arcade... or be given if you were voted the Sega Staff Image Girl.
4. Doctor's Costume: The package says it's a doctor's costume, but what kind of doctor dresses like this?
5. Red Opera Gloves: A pair of long satin gloves that are perfect for a night out at the opera! These ones would be good at hiding stains...you know, from tomato juice or something.
6. Corn: A raw ear of corn. Shuck it!
7. Red Vines: Share one with your new best friend. Red Vines- What the hell can't they do?!
8. Masque of the Opera Ghost: A white half-mask. Hide your face so the world will never find you.
9. Knife: It's a small steel blade with a gold hilt and a red handle. It's spotted with a small amount of blood. You'd be forgiven for thinking it's a sharpened file at first glance.
10. Pom-poms: A pair of red and white cheerleading pom-poms. Hurrah!
11. Absolute Tuning Fork: A huge tuning fork that hides the power to destroy the entire world with resonance, if used by someone who has mastered the art of tuning. It’s also good for drying out laundry.
12. Old-Timey Radio: A radio with a retro exterior but state-of-the-art technology inside. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work.
13. Dinosaur Suit: A full-body set of dinosaur pajamas made of the cheapest possible green velvet. It might have lice but when you take it off you miss it and feel a need to put it back on. [DISCLAIMER: Pajamas do not actually contain lice.]
14. Pregnant Loser Self-Pitying Pie (Flambe): A mincemeat pie with a rolled oats crust. It's...on fire?!
15. Deep Dish Blueberry Bacon Pie: A thick blueberry pie topped with crumpled with candied bacon on top. It's surprisingly delicious.
16. Grizabella the Glamour Cat: A bedraggled and worn gray cat plushie. The tag around her neck reads "Grizabella".
17. Duct Tape: This thick silver tape is the key to holding together any show!
18. Bobby Pins: There are so many yet not enough and they are Everywhere.
19. Black Mask: A black domino mask. Great for hiding your identity.
