merchandise booth (regains)
So what is this?
The Concession Stand located in the eastern hallway also sells show merchandise! This is a place where characters can obtain items, both strange and familiar! ICly, characters will wake up to find coins deposited on their vanity from time to time. These can be traded here for a randomly selected item.
What are these coins?
ICly, they’re just unmarked coins of no recognizable origin. OOCly, coins are awarded for every five comments from your character in a thread. Multiple increments in one thread for multiple coins ARE allowed up to five, or 25 comments!
Any threads between player characters that do not take place during investigations, trials and motive announcements are eligible for a coin. Threads with mod NPCs such as the showrunner are eligible for coins as well, but the one catch to this is that private conversations and letters do not count – the thread must take place in public
Why should I buy your weird merch?
What, besides cool new stuff? Well, okay.
This is where you have the chance to get those five regains you put down in your app. It's all up to the RNG, of course, and you may even end up getting someone else's belongings instead. You’ve got a 10% chance of getting a regain, yours or someone else’s, with every coin submitted, so keep those threads a-comin’!
Renewable items?
One out of your five items can be renewable – that is, they have the potential to come out of the booth more than one time. They can be consumable things like food, candy, liquor or cigarettes; they can also be things like yarn, socks, whatever you like!
Do coins expire? Do my coins have to be from this week?
Eligible threads don't expire! For example, you can still submit week 1 and intro log threads after week 1 ends.
My threadmate turned in our thread already. Do I have to turn it in too to get a coin?
Yep!
The character I was threading with died. Can I still get paid for interacting with them?
WHY NOT. Dead characters can no longer redeem coins, but you living do whatever you want.
I have a thread with an NPC. Can I submit that too?
Yes! As long as it's in a public post (ex. a weekly log or afterparty) those are acceptable.
What’s this I hear about song rewards?
Excellent question! Threads which include a song can be redeemed for one additional free coin! Only song participants get this bonus, so if your character didn’t sing, the thread will be worth the normal amount of coins. On the other hand, all song participants get a bonus, so a duet will result in extra coins for both performers!
When you have a thread long enough to be redeemed, comment below with a link to the thread. Please include the number of comments and, if possible, number of total coins from your character in each thread you submit. The mods will respond with sweet loot accordingly.
CONGRATULATIONS
2. Iver-Johnson .32: Rubber handles, owls stamped on the sides. It's unloaded.
3. Sonic the Hedgehog Plush: An almost life size plush of Sega's famous mascot. The kind of plush you'd win at an arcade... or be given if you were voted the Sega Staff Image Girl.
4. French Flag: A large French flag on a long flagpole. Seems like it'd be fun to wave around.
5. Turn Off the Lawsuit: A plastic neck brace with a an almost illegible signature starting with a "P" (but maybe an "R") scribbled on it in black sharpie.
6. Hair Gel: A tin of hair gel. Use it to keep that 'do looking good!
7. Magical Mister Mistoffelees: A tuxedo cat plush. It's chest is bedazzled with small plastic gems. The tag around it's neck says "Magical Mister Mistoffelees".
8. Duct Tape: This thick silver tape is the key to holding together any show!
9. Red Cape: The cape as red as blood. It's very warm.
10. Trumpet: It's a trumpet. Luckily, there's only one.
11. Meat Pie: One meat pie, still warm. It smells delicious...?
12. Green Puppet: A green puppet in a gray hoodie. It seems too complex for one person.
13. Opera Glasses: A pair of old-fashioned opera glasses, like little binoculars with a stick. They look antique, but still work well.
14. 76 Trombones: Seventy-six trombones fall out of the merchandise booth. Fucking rip.
15. Cubed Trousers: A pair of inexplicably square pants.
16. The Ultimate Treasure: A pair of tickets, apparently to a show called Hamilton. The vending machine slides them over with an odd air of reverence.
17. Black Hat: A pointed black hat. It's really sharp - and you know what they say. Black is this year's pink!
18. The Lizard and I: A small green lizard. Yes, it's alive.
19. Death Note: A black notebook with the words DEATH NOTE written across the front. The first page reads "The human whose name is written in this note shall die." Luckily (or unluckily) it's just an ordinary, if edgy, notebook.
20. Chocolate Strawberry Oasis Pie: A silky, bittersweet chocolate pie topped with fresh strawberries. It tastes heavenly.
